Questions About the Forward Motion Writers' Pages

May I link my site to this page?

Yes, with the following exceptions. Your site may not contain:

  • Pornography or adult-only material
  • Hate material, racist material
  • Anti-American propaganda

If your site doesn't contain any of the three problems noted above, you link directly to the main page -- http://www.hollylisle.com, or to the first page of any article, workshop, chapter, etc. (I don't recommend that you link to middle or end pages of anything, because as I redesign the site the material on those pages may change, or links may change), or to any board in the community.

Or you can go to the HollyLisle.com Links You Can Copy and Use on Your Site page and copy one of the graphical links I've designed. I've included cut-and-paste HTML, and you'll find links in varying sizes and colors.

Will you link your site to my page?

I'll consider it. Here are my criteria for pages that I recommend to my readers.

  1. You have either exhaustive links on a particular subject or intelligent original content of interest to writers;

  2. You don't charge for page access or require membership for the use of more than fifty percent of your original content;

  3. Your page isn't racist, sexist, or exclusionary (and this includes exclusion by race or sex. I won't recommend a page that is only for women, only for blacks, or only for any other special interest group, and that refuses access to all others); and,

  4. I can look around the site and determine its suitability. I will not recommend anything I haven't seen. This last seems awfully obvious to me, and might to you, but I've had people ask me to recommend their sites or programs who would not let me see them.

If your site meets my preliminary criteria, e-mail me and I'll look around when I get the chance, and put up a link on our References Board if I think my readers will enjoy it. I try to limit my recommendations, though, and depending on my deadlines at any given time I can be pretty slow about checking out sites. It's what I do when I'm done with everything else AND my kids don't need my attention -- so please don't be hurt if I don't get back to you promptly.

If you'd like to link it yourself -- and if it doesn't contain the following:

  • Pornography or adult-only material
  • Hate material, racist material
  • Anti-American propaganda
  • Pop-up ads

... you may add your own link on the Community-Created Links page.

May I copy an article from this site?

If you would like to copy one of the articles for a newsletter that you mail for free to a limited membership, e-mail mewith details on the article you'd like to copy and I'll tell you what you need to include in order to avoid violating my copyright.

If you would like to copy an article for any print publication that has paid subscribers, e-mail mewith the details on the article you'd like to print and we'll discuss the price for sale of one-time rights.

If you believe your readers would find something useful, you are welcome to link to the article in question. Please check your links for validity from time to time -- this site changes frequently and although I have set it up to remain stable and to permit me to keep things where they are, links may break.
